XTRA: Atlas Sound - 'Bedroom Databank Vol. 3 & 4'

It's been an interesting week for Atlas Sounds' - Bradford Cox.  Since Monday, Nov 22nd, Atlas Sound has been releasing his bedroom recordings free via his blog.  The past two days he's released Vol. 3 and 4, of the Bedroom Databank series, which is something most people didn't see coming, and a very welcomed and wonderful surprise.  Though just today, Sony Music pulled three of the four volumes off the internet with allegations of copyright infringement.  Funny thing, cause Sony isn't pulling the cover songs that Atlas Sound did on Vol. 1,  just the original material.  Bradford writes -

"Apparently Sony Music Owns my bedroom. Feel free to call or email and let them know what you think. I can understand them requesting for me to remove a cover but the only one I can imagine that happening with is Dylan. Which was on Vol. 1. Which was not deleted. I am re-uploading the files now. I'll put new links in the posts."

Hours later, Bradford kept to his word and re-posted Vol. 2-4 again, which are now back available for free download.  We'll see what happens next, but to help Bradford out (and yourself), you can contact Sony Music and express your opinion (info after the jump).  In the mean time download these the entire Bedroom Databank Vol series at his blog HERE or below while you still can.

News: Happy Thanksgiving Very Tellers!

If you've ever given Thanksgiving some thought, you've probably formed some harsh criticisms of how we as Americans acquired/took/stole the North American continent.  For Americans it's still a harsh reality struggling to acknowledge and teach our offspring a more accurate history.  Regardless of how you view America's historic inception, most of us are stuck here nonetheless.  So spend a moment (or longer) thinking about and investigating our origins as a culture, then digest these ideas to your daily life.  This post marks the 517 post of VERY TELLING in under seven months.  Thanks for the continual support from the viewers around the world, and if you're feeling sassy, leave a comment below.

XTRA: Girl Talk - 'All Day'

I've always been at odds with Girl Talk since he peaked in 2008.  I think I like Greg Gillis as a person more than an amazing mash-up artist.  Given his recent copyright and legal issues, it's no surprise his new album is available for free at his website.  Girl Talk has two amazing careers in his life to look forward, which are more important than milking the proverbial cash cow.  You can download All Day for free HERE and stream below.

Video: Botany - "Agave" (video by SM Kodiak)

This is a nonofficial video I made in three weeks in OCT/NOV for the song "Agave" by TX artist - Botany, (released 11/9 on Western Vinyl).  During the two weeks of shooting the wind was crazy in Chicago, and the leaves were barely hanging on.  It was the nice calm before getting cold, dark, and colorless (but now it's nice again?).  All the images come from either downtown, Logan Square, and Bucktown - Chicago.
